Giedo van der Garde maakt zich op voor de volgende twee testdagen in de formule 1-bolide van Caterham. De Nederlandse autocoureur staat voor woensdag en donderdag op de rol bij de sessies op Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona. De officiële testvierdaagse duurt van dinsdag tot en met vrijdag.

De 27-jarige Van der Garde reed in de eerste week van februari al twee volle dagen in de CT03 van Caterham. Hij volbracht op het circuit van Jerez meer dan 150 ronden. 

De formule 1-teams hebben vanaf 28 februari nogmaals 4 dagen de gelegenheid hun bolides voor het nieuwe seizoen te testen. Het WK opent op 17 maart met de Grand Prix van Australië.

De Nederlander debuteert dit seizoen als vaste rijder in de Formule 1. Hij heeft een éénjarig contract, maar teambaas Cyril Abiteboul liet zich op de website van het gezaghebbende Autosport ontvallen dat Van der Garde en zijn Franse teamgenoot Charles Pic mogelijk in 2014 ook voor Caterham racen. ,,Het is een moedig besluit geweest om met twee nieuwe, relatief onervaren coureurs in zee te gaan. VAN DER GARDE IN ACTION AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY

Giedo van der Garde is preparing for the next set of test days in the Formua 1 car of Caterham. The Dutch driver is scheduled to test at Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona. The official four days of testing are planned to be from Tuesday up to and including Friday.

The 27-year old Van der Garde already finished two test days in the first week of February in the CT03 of Caterham. He drove over 150 laps. 

The Formula 1 teams will be having another 4 days of testing as of 28 February to test their cars for the brand new season. The world championship will be kicking off on 17 March with the Australian Grand Prix.

The Dutchman debuted this season as a permanent driver in the Formula 1. He’s got a one-year contract, but team boss Cyril Abiteboul slipped and said on the website of the prestigious Autosport that Van der Garde and his French team mate Charles Pic will possibly be driving for Caterham in 2014 as well. ‘It has been a courageous decision to take two new, relatively inexperienced drivers on board. We have this done is with a focus on the future as well’, the Frenchman said.

He referred to big chances for 2014, when Formula 1 is transferring to a completely different engine. ‘We can not yet prepare for the engine change, but we can bring stability into the team by choosing our drivers already.’
